2011 Milwaukee County Budget update…On November 17th the Milwaukee County Board adopted the 2011 budget, overriding 11 of 15 vetoes by County Executive Walker.  As shared earlier, the recommendations and amendments made in the budget process to the Milwaukee County Transit System have not changed (scroll down for detail).

Update from Transportation for AmericaNovember 2nd brought significant changes to Washington, but it was also a big day for hundreds of local transportation-related ballot initiatives.  A full 75 percent of those measures were approved on November 2nd, proving once again that Americans want transportation options – but what will the new Congress mean for the transportation bill, now 400+ days past due? See below for links to more articles and resources on the High Speed Rail project, which continues to dominate the transit discussion in SE WI.   Other rail projects, as well as funding for roads has also entered into the debate.   However, the challenges facing our local bus systems are still there and we will need all your support in 2011 has we fight for an RTA and dedicated funding!

Happy Thanksgiving from The Coalition for Advancing Transit
